The book by Hermann Lueer is a tribute to the collective work of the Group of International Communists (Holland). In light of the emerging experiences with state communism in Russia, their 1930 publication „Fundamental Principles of Communist Production and Distribution“ was an attempt to scientifically elaborate on the economic foundation of a communist society, as already outlined by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels.

While their arguments have lost none of their original relevance, their text remains a product of its time in terms of academic discourse with contemporary literature. This publication, therefore, seeks to present the core ideas of the „Fundamental Principles of Communist Production and Distribution“ in a free-form manner and contribute to the ongoing debate on alternatives to capitalism.
